FAQs

HOW DOES THE 2-HOUR ARRIVAL WINDOW WORK?

To accommodate the unique nature of our mobile service, we provide a 2-hour arrival window. Due to varying travel distances and the individual needs of each pet, it's difficult to pinpoint an exact arrival time. For instance, if your appointment is scheduled for 3 PM, we may arrive anytime between 2 PM and 4 PM. While we strive to arrive as close to your booked time as possible, we appreciate your understanding if we're slightly early or delayed. Rest assured, we'll keep you in the loop and send you a text prior to our arrival.

HOW MUCH DO WE CHARGE?

Pricing varies based on the type of pet and the specific service needed. For detailed pricing information, please visit our ‘Service’ page. We only charge for the service, with no additional mileage fees for customers within a 10-mile (driven) distance of 170 Arrow Wood Place, Malta NY 12020.

A nominal travel fee of $15 will apply for those living beyond this range.

HOW LONG DOES AN APPOINTMENT TAKE?

  • New clients with dogs: ~60 minutes

    • We take a bit longer for new dogs to get to know you and your pup and to figure out the best place to set up our equipment.

  • Regular clients with dogs: ~45 minutes

  • Clients with cats: ~15 minutes

Please be aware that these are only estimates. Just like us, pets can have good and bad days.

DO YOU HAVE A VAN OR BUS FOR YOUR SERVICES?

No, all care is provided inside the client’s home. We bring all the necessary equipment with us and use a specific setup for dogs (Doggie Lift).

We also use a calm and cozy cat wrap for all cats and dogs under 30 lbs!

HOW DOES THE DOGGIE LIFT SYSTEM WORK?

We require a standard doorway with trim molding around it. The trim itself doesn't bear the dog's weight; instead, it distributes the weight to the header and sides of the doorway. Thus, the support comes from the 2x4s framing the doorway. The Doggie Lift was designed by veterinarians and is exceptionally safe. We’ve handled pups from 2-200lbs safely!

DO YOU CLIP DOGS’ NAILS OR USE A DREMEL?

I always use a Dremel!

A Dremel provides a precise and controlled method of nail grooming. This precision ensures that your dog can move comfortably and reduces the likelihood of injuries associated with overgrown nails. The quiet operation of the Dremel tool contributes to a lower stress experience, making it an excellent choice for dogs who may be anxious or sensitive to loud noises associated with traditional nail clippers or going to a groomer or vet. The Dremel tool's ability to smooth rough edges after trimming ensures a clean finish, reducing the risk of scratches and damage to flooring or furniture. This benefit is particularly advantageous for pet owners concerned about maintaining a pet-friendly home environment.

What if my dog/ cat doesn’t like the procedure and thinks using their teeth is a good idea?

Some dogs/ cats, especially those I haven’t visited, might need time to get used to the process. I always carry muzzles and plastic collar cones if they don’t calm down and think using their teeth is a good idea.

Do I need a credit card to book an appointment?

Yes, all clients must keep a credit card on file when booking an appointment. This is a standard security measure, and rest assured; we only charge the credit card if payment is not made through another method.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept Debit Cards, Credit Cards, checks, Venmo and PayPal.
